Wyrdhund

Where did the name come from?

Wyrd is an Old English word meaning fate or destiny. Hund meaning dog. My dogs were destined to be mine, and fate has brought you here for your Wyrdhund puppy.

Where are we?

Located in Sheffield. My goal is to raise healthy puppies in a loving family environment. All of our dogs are family members and are treated as such! Each and every one of my dogs live beside me in my home.

A great deal of planning goes into our puppies. Starting with the mother and father, our plans can be made weeks, months or even a year before puppies are born. While I will have a rough idea of timings, it is always best to have a strong waiting list to ensure each puppy find their forever home.

Our Journey Started
With Two Swiss Breeds

My first Swiss breed in 2019, a beautiful ball of white fluff, Skye my first White Swiss Shepherd, a gentle ball of fluff, and a big softy. She has always enjoying the company of other dogs, she suffered after her best friend Bailey the Border Collie passed away a couple of months before his 4th birthday.

I knew deep down she needed a canine companion that's when I began my search. Already owning a Swiss breed, I looked at other breeds from Switzerland finding the Bernese Mountain Dog. However, due to their large size, and already owning a large dog, I wanted a dog a little smaller.

What better choice then the Bernese's smaller cousin the Entlebucher Sennenhund. After meeting my first Entlebucher it was only six months later in May 2022 that I welcomed home my Entie pup, Ginny.
